OBEDIENCE
Living with a well mannered dog is truly satisfying. In order to get your dog to that point, takes commitment, consistency and most importantly, time.
As soon as your puppy or older dog comes into your life, you can start to teach him the rules you expect him to live by. Socialising your dog and exposing him to all the noises and movements in the world can start straight away in a puppy pre-school, these are often run at vet clinics. Once you have completed puppy pre-school, and your dog is up to date with all his vaccinations, you are ready to sign up with us.
Trained club instructors will train you to train your dog. Through this process you and your dog will learn to work together as a team. You will learn to teach your puppy to walk without pulling on a lead, how to sit, drop, stay and to come when you call him. You will progress through the class levels learning more new skills as you go.
Once your dog is working well with you and has learnt the basic skills, you can start getting ready to enter competitions. To enter an obedience trial you will need to make sure your dog is registered with Dogs NSW and that you are a member.
Obedience trialing has five levels, as well as Rally Obedience which also has multiple levels.
More information regarding trialing and rules can be found through the Dogs NSW website.
